Content Updates for Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs, 16th Edition

Medicine and pharmacy are dynamic fields. Accordingly, reporting major new events in self-care topics was a major impetus in creating a Web site for the Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs.

Criteria for major events include:

• Actions by the Food and Drug Administration related to nonprescription products, for example:

          √Final approval of an Rx-to-OTC switch product
          √Final approval of an OTC new drug application
          √Removal of an OTC product from the market
          √Publication of a final monograph on nonprescription agents

• Updates to disease clinical guidelines (for example, asthma, diabetes)
• Other federal legislation related to pharmacy practice, nonprescription products, or dietary supplements that warrant the immediate attention of pharmacists.

After thorough review by the appropriate author(s) . . . 
        √Content updates will be posted to OTCHandbook.com.
        √An e-mail notice will be sent to all persons who have registered for updates.
