Web Links
APhA is pleased to provide "Web links" as a value-added resource for users of the OTC Handbook.com Web site. Each PDF listed below contains links to Internet sites that provide information about that chapter's topics.
The list of Internet sites is by no means exhaustive. The search for appropriate sites focused on those that provided free information for patients and/or health care professionals, including clinical guidelines/studies, patient information or educational material, and forums or support groups. Some sites required free registration to access that information. That requirement is noted in the description of a site's content and features, which follows each hypertext link.
Most of the listed sites provide information about a disorder and its treatment that is useful for patients or caregivers as well as health care professionals. Other sites present clinical information written for health care professionals. Most of the PDFs present first a list of Web sites that cover the specific disorder(s) discussed in that chapter. The sites listed below the “search box” cover a wide range of health topics and treatments, and are included in most of the PDFs.
Rather than providing links to specific pages on a Web site that could be moved or discarded, we have provided links to either the index page or the main page of a Web site. The index pages usually provide an alphabetical list of topics. The terms provided in the search box cover the various clinical and common names for a disorder.
